“You can feel the love from this book”

Abhideya Dasi - Bhakti kids Sanga podcast

“5/5 Please Please Open Your Eyes By shyamsakhi Devi dasi In the last few years Shyamsakhi has released three titles and an art journal with her first title "Ten heros - the incarnations of Sri Vishnu " now available in four European languages. She went on to release "Little Goloka" which was a poem instead of a story all about Krishna and his cows but

I think this latest release "Please Please Open Your eyes" has replaced ten Heros as my favourite of her books! There are so many books of varying quality about Krishna birth but not many about the birth of Srimate Radhrani.

I love Shyamsakhis illustrative style , and appreciate the amount of work required to not only write but illustrate the book too. My favourite part is Narada Munis appearance and his cryptic message. If you want to find out if Radha ever opens her eyes then you'll just have to read it yourself !”

I love this new book "Please Please Open Your Eyes" by Chanel Enjoem

This is one of the only picture books about Radharani's appearance I know of, it reads so nicely like I'm being brought right into Sri Radha's village. All the illustrations are charming, there are so many fine poetic details and I can see so much heart and research has gone into this book. It's the perfect bedtime story and meditation on little Radha and Krishna right as your little ones close their eyes and dream off.

Shyam Sakhi (Chanel Enjoem) is a devotee serving at the temple in Belgium at Radhadesh. She's a wonderful author and illustrator giving her life in service to create Krishna conscious picture books for the global Krishna community in multiple languages.

By supporting independent authors, illustrators and publishers you keep getting the types of cultural books you didn't have as a child, a gift you can give your children to pass on your culture and the culture of your neighbors.

One of the ways to support Krishna Conscious children's literature is to encourage your local temple to order in bulk from independent publishers like Chanel Enjoem, and have these books on your book tables and in the temple shop

My Amazon Prime shipped it so fast. It makes a wonderful gift, a great addition to your classroom and school library. I hope you get a copy, and don't forget to share it on your wall, there is at least one parent in your network looking for this sweet book.

Much love,

Madhu Devi from @Devi Sri Books
